Square Enix and Eidos Montreal, the publisher and developer of the recent Deus Ex: Human Revolution, have confirmed that the first story-based downloadable content pack for the futuristic role playing game will arrive in October, and is called The Missing Link.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was released late last month but already impressed legions of gamers with its complex gameplay, respect for the original Deus Ex titles, and the sharp visual design.

However, its story was quite peculiar, especially since Adam Jensen, the protagonist, is out cold for about three days towards the end of the game.

Now, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal will shed some light on what happened in that time, through the release of the Missing Link DLC for the Human Revolution.

"The Deus Ex: Human Revolution conspiracy grows deeper in The Missing Link," Square Enix revealed. "During lead character Adam Jensen’s quest for the truth in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, he mysteriously vanishes for three days. Where was he? What did he find out? The Missing Link reveals it all."

During that time, it seems that Jensen was stuck on a ship by Belltower agents, who disables all his augmentations, leaving him extremely vulnerable.

"After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected."

"As Adam, gamers will befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution," the company added.

The Missing Link brings lots of new things, according to Eidos Montreal, including new conspiracies to untangle, new environments and characters withing them, as well as the chance to rebuild the augmentation set of Adam from scratch.
