Video game publisher Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal have confirmed that their open world title Deus Ex: Human Revolution has now gone gold and that the launch date continues to be set for August 23 in the United States and the 26 on the European market.

Those who are interested in the prequel to one of the most influential titles of all time will be able to get it on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the PC through retail or via Steam and on the OnLive streaming service.

The Gold status for the game means that no further alternations will be made to the main code and that the publisher is now printing the disks and packaging them in order to make sure that enough are available in stores on launch day.

The developers at Eidos Montreal will continue to work on the game, tweaking certain aspects and fixing any new bugs that they find and we will probably see a patch come out soon after August 23.

Stephane D'Astous, who is the general manager of the Montreal studio of Eidos, has stated when the Gold status was announced that, “We couldn’t be more excited that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold and will soon be in the hands of expectant gamers.”

He added, “As the first release for Eidos-Montreal, it’s impossible to express how extremely proud we are of the final product and all of the hard work that went into its creation.”

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will take place before the events of the original game in the series and will explore a variety of themes about humanity, life, Renaissance and violence.

The game will offer a variety of play styles, with gamers able to choose whether they are interested in being stealthy or whether they like to confront threats head on.
