Despite clear assurances from the development team at Eidos Montreal and publisher Square Enix that Deus Ex: Human Defiance was an actual video game that would get detailed today, the two companies are revealing that the name is used for an April Fools' prank and nothing more.

The team is trying to get fan support for an 8 bit remake of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was launched during 2011.

The team explains via Facebook that, "Actually, the Human Defiance name was registered on the off-chance it we might need it, but it was decided later that it wouldn't be used. So, we just decided to take the opportunity to have a little fun."

The success of the Deus Ex prequel probably means that another game might be linked to next-gen consoles.
