Left 4 Dead is going to be a pretty interesting title, the zombie shooter promising quite a lot of things. The
innovations it brings have been enough to convince most of us that it will be a must buy title. But not everyone, so Chet Faliszek from Valve decided to give us a few details on the future demo of the game.
It will “most likely be the first two maps of the hospital campaign”. This means that a pretty interesting part of the zombie shooting fun will be available for all of us to try. On the matter of the release of this demo, he was content with saying that it will be “shortly before release”. The official date for the PC and Xbox 360 version is slated to be November 18, so we can expect a playable demo to appear about a week or so before. On the matter of the much debated
PlayStation 3 version, he didn't say anything, let alone demo plans for Sony's console.
For those of you who don't know, Left 4 Dead pits four survivors of a zombie holocaust against hordes of the undead, as they navigate through buildings and open space in a quest to reach a safe zone where they can be picked up. The game relies heavily on team play and cooperation, as none of the characters can stand against the zombies alone. The novelty in Valve's approach to the theme is that some players will get to play the zombies, or more accurately some of the more developed zombies, pitting their wit and abilities different zombie types have against the human survivors.
All in all, it will be a very anticipated title, and the demo is sure to rack up some very numerous downloads for both the PC and the Xbox 360.
