Destiny clan Primeguard boasts the world first completion of Vault of Glass, the sci-fi first-person shooter's toughest encounter yet, not even a day after the content was released.

World firsts are pretty big deals as far as competitive guilds are concerned, and securing your place in any game's history by being the first to progress through the most difficult content available is a very serious undertaking.

The Vault of Glass raid is only available to gamers level 26 or higher, and requires six players to tackle, all of which must be friends, as for the foreseeable future developer Bungie doesn't intend to make online matchmaking available.

Vault of Glass statistics

Primeguard, the clan that managed to finish Vault of Glass before any other players in the world, clocked their time at 10 hours, 42 minutes and 3 seconds, which speaks to their dedication.

The high-level raid went live yesterday, and a lot of fireteams were patiently polishing their rifles waiting for the doors to open, in the hope of finishing it first.

Primeguard was a six-person team, comprised of three Titans, two Hunters and a Warlock, and they all died 1,606 times during their ordeal, with a KDA (kill / death ratio average) of 3.59, which means that they scored 5,733 enemy kills over the 10 hours.

They reported that their average lifespan was 2 minutes and 22 seconds, so you don't have to feel bad for dying often either, as it happens even at the highest echelons of play.

Developer Bungie acknowledged Primeguard's impressive feat in a tweet, challenging the team to try mirroring the achievement on hard mode, which is reportedly much, much tougher.

Sloppy seconds

The closest competitors to Primeguard's achievement are istDattos, a six-man fireteam that managed to complete Vault of Glass and take down its two nasty bosses, over its four difficult encounters, in a period of 12 hours, 42 minutes and 52 seconds.

Both teams started their efforts at the same time, just as the Vault of Glass' doors slammed open, and it was a veritable race to the finish for everyone involved.

"Destiny's Vault of Glass is the single most challenging and rewarding experience we have had as gamers," Primeguard tweeted after taking down the last boss.

Many teams are streaming their attempts at completing the Vault of Glass, so if you still have a while to go until hitting 26 or don't have 6 eligible friends, you might as well give that a look and see what's waiting for you.

Congratulations to @PrimeGuardHQ for completing the Raid. Now, try it on hard tier. http://t.co/DGQNBvYkoa pic.twitter.com/s9Txlrqm80 — Bungie (@Bungie) September 16, 2014
