The development team at Bungie and publisher Activision are announcing that they are planning to deliver the first expansion for Destiny, called The Dark Below, on December 9 on all platforms, introducing a wide range of new content for gamers to experience.

The package will be offered for 19.99 dollars or Euro and all those who are enjoying the title on the PlayStation 4 or the PS3 will also receive a new and exclusive cooperative strike called The Undying Mind and a unique weapon to use on the battlefield.

The Dark Below is designed to raise the Light level cap for all the characters to 32 and to introduce five new Bounty slots for gamers to use.

The new story quests and missions that Destiny will feature are centered on an entirely new character called Eris, who has been hiding among the Hive for years and has not come forward to tell all Guardians that the faction aims to create an actual god called Crota in order to destroy the entirety of Earth and all remnants of humanity.

The adventure created by Bungie will have three special moments when gamers can earn new rewards and increase their Light level, and there are many new powerful items that they can find and then use.

Crota will also be the focus of an entirely new cooperative strike which will require a Fireteam to battle Omnigul as she seeks to recruit additional forces for her god to use.

The Dark Below for Destiny also expands player versus player modes

The segment of the player base that’s focused on PvP will also get access to three new multiplayer arenas where they can test the power of their build.

Pantheon is in the Black Garden in an ancient temple, with tight corridors and areas designed for close quarter engagements, while Skyshock is built around an interplanetary defense array which features some vehicles.

Finally, The Cauldron takes gamers to an abandoned Hive ritual site with a close quarter focus.

Crota’s End is a new six-player raid which will be added to Destiny in The Dark Below, taking gamers to the very dangerous environment of Hellmouth.

Until the expansion is launched, Bungie has said that it has plans to deliver more updates for the shooter in order to make sure that the mechanics are balanced.

Destiny will get a second big expansion at some point in the summer of next year.
