Gamers will have an easier time taking out Skolas

The development team at Bungie is ready to deliver some more details about the Prison of Elders game mode that was added to Destiny in May and about the way it is being tweaked in order to deliver a better overall experience for gamers once hotfix 1.2.03 is launched.

The studio explains in the Weekly Update that, since House of Wolves was launched, more than 378,000 teams have managed to defeat final boss Skolas.

Bungie explains that they are planning to deliver a new hotfix, labeled 1.2.0.3, for Destiny during the coming week in order to introduce a number of changes that are based on the feedback the player community has been delivering.

No patch notes are offered at the moment.

Christopher Barrett, the creative director working on Prison of Elders at Bungie, says that he is happy with the way the mode turned out and how players engaged with it.

He adds, "There are some aspects that could be improved. First off, the elemental burns proved to be too punishing (being one-shot by tracking Arc fire for example). This makes it too tempting to rely on one common tactic (three Gjallarhorns on a Solar Burn). In addition, the difficulty swings too wildly from week to week, and average playtimes are tracking much longer than intended."

Skolas himself will become more predictable, but gamers will have to continue to work together to take out the boss.

The Taken King is the new expansion for Destiny

The launch of House of Wolves took place on May 19, which is less than one month away, but a lot of members of the player community are already speculating about the way the next expansion will change the social shooter.

We already know that The Taken King is in development and should be out before the end of the year on all platforms.

Rumors are saying that gamers will get access to an entirely new environment to explore and that at least one new major game feature is being added, as well as new subclasses for gamers to use.

Until then, the development team at Bungie is also expected to deliver a new late-game raid, which will introduce one major boss to take out, and there are also more updates coming to improve the game experience.
