Destiny's Child were named best group of the year at the 2005 World Music Awards. The girls opened the spectacular event and the sexy singer wowed fans by flashing her knickers during the show.

Mariah Carey was honored with three awards, including Best Female Artist, Best R&B Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, Wednesday night at Hollywood`s Kodak Theatre event.

A friend of the singer said: "Mariah was thrilled because a year ago she was being written off and people were saying her career was heading for the dumper.

She celebrated by throwing a pyjama party for some friends at her home. Everyone had a great time and it carried on till 3am."

Usher was named Best Selling Male Artist, Gwen Stefani won the award for Best Selling Female New Artist and The Game won the male equivalent.
