Despite assurances and promises from Mathew Knowles, it’s probably clear even to the most diehard fans that Destiny’s Child will never get back together to release a new, full album as a group. This is precisely what makes surprise reunions / performances all the more special.

This weekend in Las Vegas, at the Gospel Music Awards 2015, Michelle Williams won Music Video of the Year for her 2014 release “Say Yes,” and she brought along her collaborators, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce, for a surprise performance.

Rumor of this had gotten out online some hours before the event, but the leak didn’t affect the impact the “reunion” had on fans: seeing the 3 ladies together again on stage, performing live in front of a packed venue, was like Christmas come early for them.

It’s true, the performance wasn’t billed a Destiny’s Child one, but beggars can’t be choosers, can they?

This was the first time since the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime performance that Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly shared the same stage: back then, Michelle and Kelly joined Beyonce for a medley of DC hits, and were credited as such.

However, that was probably the last time these 3 called themselves Destiny’s Child. Available under the clip of the Vegas performance is the official music video for “Say Yes,” which won Michelle the latest accolade.
