Activision publishing boss Eric Hirshberg has shared his own thoughts about seeing Destiny on the PC platform, saying that such a thing would be a perfect fit for the multiplayer shooter but that right now developer Bungie wants to focus on the console versions for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Destiny is one of the most ambitious games of the year, promising to deliver huge open and online worlds that can be explored by players at their own pace, either by completing story missions or by assembling a fireteam with their friends and taking on the dangers of the many environments in the game.

The online shooter is set to debut for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms this September, and until then a special beta will kick off in July, while a first look alpha is already underway on the PS4 this weekend.

Bungie has gone on the record several times about its desire to make a PC edition of the game and now the CEO of the game's publisher, Activision, has also expressed his desire for such a thing to happen.

While talking with Polygon, Erich Hirshberg said that Destiny on PC is a good fit, considering the genre, as many multiplayer shooters have found great success on the platform.

"It is [a good fit], and it's something we're talking about and looking at very carefully, and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is," Hirshberg said. "Again, no announcements, but it's something that's a heavy point of discussion"

Hirshberg also pointed out that making a PC game is quite different than bringing one to consoles and that developer Bungie wants to make sure that the upcoming release of Destiny on the four platforms goes smoothly.

"You know, developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit."

Destiny is certainly one of the most anticipated games of the year and, considering it's an online experience, its launch will be critical for the popularity, so it's understandable that Bungie wants to make sure the proper debut of the title goes as smoothly as possible.
