14 DAY TRIAL // Today might be one of the days when important changes are being introduced to Destiny, one of the biggest video games of the moment, but also one when the development team at Bungie has managed to frustrate a lot of fans with its incomplete communication efforts.
An official update from the Twitter account of the company is now saying that, despite the fact that update 1.2.0 for the game is now being deployed on the platforms of gamers, the changes are not actually being activated today.
Bungie is not yet revealing when it is going live with the tweaks, and the studio is also not willing to deliver an actual look at the list of all the changes.
One thing that the developers do share with the Destiny community is that the maintenance process linked to the deployment of update 1.2.0 should be complete by 12 PM Pacific Daylight Time.
Any extension will probably be announced on the company's social media channels.
It's frustrating to see a big video game studio offer information in dribs and drabs rather than straight up and in complete form, and we can only hope that the communication process will be improved in the future.
Destiny is getting ready to welcome House of Wolves
Initially, the word was that update 1.2.0 would arrive just a little ahead of the new expansion, which probably means the changes will only go live during the week of May 19.
House of Wolves is a big content drop that is designed to introduce a range of new end-game activities for Destiny, allowing each player to find a gameplay formula that works for them.
The Trials of Osiris mode is designed to allow gamers to prepare their Guardian and then join teams that are battling for supremacy and a range of special rewards.
Prison of Elders was only revealed today and will introduce a complex horde-like experience, where another set of items and weapons is being offered.
The House of Wolves expansion will not contain a new end-game raid, but Bungie is also promising new items and other changes.
The work being done by @BungieHelp today will deploy 1.2.0 but not activate it. Changes will go live at a later date to be announced.
