The size is different from that linked to the pre-load option

Destiny's release, one of the biggest launches of the fall season, will take place in about one week, and it seems that the install size of the title on the Xbox One home console is a whooping 40 GB, which might mean that some players need to clear out some other content in order to actually play the new title.

The information comes from a user who has managed to get access to his official copy of the shooter a few days earlier and has posted images that show the size.

The 40 GB hard drive space requirement is also interesting given that Microsoft has said that the pre-load on the Xbox One is just a little bigger than 19 GB, which probably means that it will be significantly expanded after it is downloaded to the device.

Bungie has said that Destiny is a complex game which will get a lot of new content and gameplay tweaks via patches, and that probably means that the install size on the Xbox One will grow pretty quickly after the experience is first launched.

On September 9, the video game will also be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the older PS3 and the Xbox 360, although no cross-platform play is planned.

Rumors are also saying that Bungie will deliver a PC version, but that claim has not been confirmed through any sort of official channel.

The studio is already working on the first piece of downloadable content for the shooter, which is set to be introduced before the end of the year and will be called The Dark Below, with new areas that are set to be easily integrated into the already existing universe and will be appealing to high level gamers.

Bungie says that it wants all those playing to offer feedback on the game in order to make it easier for them to quickly tweak core elements and to make sure that all aspects are balanced.

Destiny will ask gamers to create a Guardian, choosing from three possible classes, and then fight either solo or with friends in order to ensure the safety of the final city that humans can maintain on Earth.

The title will take players to three planets and the Moon and will allow them to explore a universe with an unique lore, which is telling its story through items as much as through enemy design and the content associated with missions and raids.
