Bungie has confirmed that it's just kicked off the first Destiny online event, in the form of the Salvage one, which sees players compete in the Crucible mode as part of a special game type with different rewards.

Destiny was just released earlier this week, and while there are still many fans who have just begun their journey into the multiplayer shooter from Bungie, the studio is wasting no time and has just kicked off the first in-game event for the title, in the form of the Salvage one.

This special event consists of a Salvage playlist that's now available inside the Destiny Crucible competitive mode, the company reveals on Twitter. Two teams of three guardians fight against each other in order to secure objectives and attain victory.

For all those who compete in the event Bungie offers special crucible gear and crucible reputation, which should definitely give them an advantage over others. The Salvage weekend concludes on September 14, so take advantage of it as soon as possible.

Bungie revealed earlier today that a lot of other in-game events were coming to Destiny this month and in October, ranging from the opening of the Vault of Glass in the game's Venus environment to the Iron Banner Crucible competition.

Expect to hear more about all these different events in the near future, including specific start and end dates.
