Destiny, the upcoming multiplayer-only first-person shooter from Bungie, is now in the game testing phase ahead of its upcoming beta release, as the whole team is going through it to spot any key issues.

Destiny is one of the most anticipated all-new games set to appear this year, and Bungie has been working hard on its project for quite some time.

The title, a multiplayer-only first-person shooter with a persistent online world, is set to delight quite a lot of people and the studio has been spoon feeding fans tiny tidbits of information for quite some time.

After hearing some hints that the promised beta stage would appear in May or June, ahead of the game's September release, now the studio has confirmed on its blog that Destiny is in the testing phase internally.

"We’ve cleared every available table, and set up arrays of gaming stations for some aggressive maneuvers against the creepy crawlies in our code. As we prepare for the milestones that submit you to the trials, we’re refining the test. We’re seeking out the flaws on our construction site, and attacking them with extreme prejudice," the studio said about this new stage in the game's creation.

Right now, the testing phase consists of actual game designers, artists, and programmers playing the online title and seeing their creations in action and how they work alongside other mechanics in the game.

"You might find yourself wondering why we’re putting designers to the test, since we’re rumored to have an army of dedicated testers on our team. The idea is that each developer takes the time to understand their own component of the game first-hand (or first-person, if you will)," the studio explained.

The creators are certainly excited about this moment and they're having a great time despite the somewhat grueling nature of the testing process.

"Taking pride in one’s work is requisite at Bungie. You may have heard that we make games we want to play. At this phase in development, that’s not just a cultural decision. It’s the tactic we’ll use to chase the bugs out of our system for good."

Once this stage is complete, actual game testers will come in and examine Destiny with a much greater emphasis on detail.

The beta stage will commence at the end of spring or during the summer, so that Bungie can incorporate the feedback into the game before Destiny's release worldwide on September 9 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
