The same gameplay is available on all platforms, even the old ones

Bungie has emphasized once more that Destiny, its upcoming multiplayer-only first-person shooter will have the same set of features across all platforms, whether they're last-gen consoles like PS3 or Xbox 360, or new ones like PS4 or Xbox One.

Destiny is the next ambitious project from developer Bungie and publisher Activision, and the shooter is set to debut this September across old and new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

Considering recent cross-gen releases, fans have been left wondering if the PS3 or Xbox 360 editions of Destiny will have fewer features than on PS4 or Xbox One.

Such a sacrifice isn't going to be made, according to Bungie, which talked with GamesMaster magazine via Reddit.

"Hopefully players will be pleasantly surprised by how appealing it is on [last generation hardware]," the studio revealed. "It’s the same game, that was hugely important to us. Part of some of the really big, ambitious technologies set up for this… all of this lives on one set of servers. There’s one world that we’re building, and that is extended out to multiple platforms."

As such, no matter the platform, Destiny fans should expect the same experience in terms of gameplay. Of course, performance and visuals are certainly going to be better on PS4 and Xbox One.
