Bungie wants to make fans feel great with the new game

Destiny developer Bungie is quite thankful of the community that's already surrounded Destiny well ahead of its launch this week, as well as for various streaming services like Twitch, which allows players to easily share their experiences with others.

Destiny made its official debut earlier this week and finally delivered its long-awaited first-person shooter experience that blends multiplayer and single-player story in different ways, while providing cooperative and competitive fans with plenty of modes to enjoy.

The community is crucial for any Bungie game

However, while Bungie is certainly thrilled about the positive reception, it's quite thankful for the solid community that's grown around Destiny ever since its official announcement, as having a loyal fanbase is one of the most important things for a game, especially an online one like Destiny, which can change easily depending on feedback.

"I don’t think things like Forge for example would ever have existed in Halo if it wasn’t for our relationship with the players out there and the community. I think when you look at the way that we are going to build upon the Destiny universe, the community is now a voice in that. They already changed some of our prioritization in future work that we have planned," Bungie's Jonty Barnes told GamesTM.

Streaming and video services are also great for Destiny

Because Destiny is a multiplayer experience, it delivers plenty of sequences that can be shared with others, especially since now it's very easy to do that via services like Twitch or YouTube.

"We always wanted to make a game that was highly visceral, that you could watch and understand rather than having to play to understand. That was an absolute tenet of Destiny. I think the thing that’s happening for platforms now is that they provide a great layer for sharing and Twitch and social connection."

Barnes believes that the ease of implementation for Twitch and other such services will lead to a wide spread adoption and will soon play a big role in the promotion of many games.

"Rather than have to invent our own, we’re actually able to embrace what they’re doing and we’re actually informing what they’re doing. I think you’re going to see that as platforms become more mature and do lots more of that we’re going to be jumping on that and taking full advantage."

Destiny made its debut earlier this week for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms all around the world.
