Despicable Me: Minion Rush is at this point one of the most downloaded games in the Windows Store, so every single update is being downloaded by thousands of users curious to experience the new content implemented by Gameloft.

A new version has been officially rolled out today to bring a new environment which lets you “discover the secrets of the Anti-Villain League from Despicable Me 2,” as the official release notes state, but also a new mini-game that calls you to unlock a new power-up and start a mission to the moon.

A new costume is also available to run dressed as a starfish minion, and so are more challenges to compete with friends from your country in local leaderboards.

“Play as a Minion and compete with others in hilarious, fast-paced challenges in order to impress your boss, (former?) super-villain Gru! Jump, fly, dodge obstacles, collect bananas, be mischievous, and defeat villains to earn the title of Minion of the Year!” the updated game description published in the store reads.

Just as expected, the game continues to work on basically every single version of Windows 8.1 out there, so you can play it on both desktops and tablets. Windows RT devices are supported as well, meaning that everyone who has already purchased a Surface tablet can give it a shot.

Overall, this update is clearly good news for all fans of the game, so download Despicable Me: Minion Rush for Windows 8.1 right now to get these fresh goodies on your computer too.
