Windows 9 remains a highly-anticipated product, mostly because everybody hopes to see the Start Menu coming back in this OS version, so it’s no surprise that designers across the world create concepts envisioning some of its features.

This time, DeviantArt user FishBertus has created a Windows 9 concept that imagines the Start screen supposed to be implemented in the next full OS release coming from Redmond.

As you can see for yourselves, the new design uses an improved flat look and rounded fonts, all leading to a much more user-friendly appearance that could make way to the operating system.

Some of the new elements showing up in this concept and highly unlikely to see daylight in Windows 9 are the taskbar, the user account icon placed in the left bottom corner, and the clock, usually displayed as part of the taskbar on the desktop.

At the same time, the Start screen also holds several Google apps, not available at this point on Windows 8.1, including Gmail, Google Chrome, and Google Plus.

The designer claims that such a design would be extremely flexible and would meet all screen sizes out there, which actually matches Microsoft’s vision for future operating system.

“This is mean to be an operating system that can work on anything from a Smartphone or Tablet, to a Laptop or Multi-Monitor PC. This is why the Toolbar is larger, and why the PC resolution is so high, because even when it is shrunken unto a 1080x1920 display (Smartphone) even the smallest elements are still easy to touch, and when on a huge 4K display like in the example, the elements aren't uselessly gigantic,” the designer said.

Unfortunately, most of these designs will be ignored and we’re pretty sure that Microsoft plans to stick to the current look implemented in Windows 8.1. And still, it’s a good way to see what users really want from the next Windows release.
