You probably know what Descent|OS is from our full-featured article publish earlier today, February 23rd, 2012.

However, we remind you that the current stable version of Descent|OS is based off of Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal), Elementary OS and Trisquel GNU/Linux, from which it inherits a 2.6.38 Linux kernel.

Descent|OS 2.1 presented in this 24 image long screenshot tour contains applications like LibreOffice, The GIMP, Chromium, Synaptic, Exaile, PiTiVi, VLC, Shotwell, Pidgin, Claws Mail, Dropbox Client, and Guake!.

Being distributed as a 32-bit only ISO image, the Descent|OS Linux distribution offers a simplistic GNOME 2 desktop environment, customized and modernized with the Docky dock-like app.

Keep an eye on Descent|OS in the future, as the next major release will be based off of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).
