The last thing the world needed was another Denzel Washington action film, although it's been a while since we've had a good one from the actor. “The Equalizer” aims to fix that and has a new trailer out to prove it. There is very little new footage, but the trailer is cut in such a way that it seems to tell a different tale than the ones before it.

The story is taken from an 80s cult television series that had actor Edward Woodward in the title role and had the same job as the new version of the character has: solving people's problems with a unique set of skills that involve violence and guns.

The new movie is directed by the man behind the resounding success “Trainining Day,” which also starred Washington, Antoine Fuqua. This time around, Denzel plays Robert McCall, a quiet guy working at Home Depot who in reality is a character with a shady past but with good intentions.

When the Russian mafia picks on a hooker McCall likes, played by Chloe Grace Moretz, Washington's character brings in his special ops expertise to take down the entire organization. The movie opens in theaters on September 26.
