Another player will go into the legends world starting this week. After spending almost all his professional years at Ajax Amsterdam and Arsenal London, Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp decided to end his journey in the world of football. The Arsenal striker couldn't have chosen a better moment for his testimonial. He got to play the first Arsenal match on the Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal investment cost about 575 million euros and will serve, from Saturday on, as the new "gunners'" home. And one of their best
strikers ever decided to put an end to his career in style, in front of almost 50.000 fans. Dennis entered the field with his son & father at his side. Mitchell Bergkamp (son) and Wim (father) passed the ball to each other for a few seconds and the game began.

The Dutchman had the chance to play against his former teammates and idols back in the days. If the first half went on with the current Arsenal - Ajax lineups, the second half was truly a great spectacle. Marco Van Basten and Johann Cruyff stepped on the field for the first time in decades. Two of Holland's greatest players in the history of football wanted to be by Bergkamp's side in his last moments as a professional footballer.

The match went down without any major accomplishments by the players in the field. Only Edgar Davids received some booing every time he had the ball - he's playing for Tottenham Hotspurs, Arsenal's all-time rivals. Ronald de Boer wasted a penalty shot and Dennis himself blew the chance to score his last goal in the late minutes of the game.

In the end, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry, two of Dutchman's former teammates lifted Bergkamp on their shoulders. And the crowd loved it. Not only because of Dennis Bergkamp, but also because the Arsenal fans got the last chance - maybe - to see former idol Vieira playing in the gunner's tie-shirt.
