For the past several days, the tabloids have been trying to argue, with photographic evidence to back up their reports, that Denise Richards is too skinny and, as such, probably not as healthy as she says. On the contrary, Denise fights back: she’s never been healthy.

Speaking with Extra on the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards, which she attended with her daughters with ex Charlie Sheen, Denise says that she’s thinner than before but not because she’s unhealthy.

Check out her statement in the video below embedded at the end of this article.

In fact, she’s never been healthier, because both her and the kids have a very healthy lifestyle, which also involves working out a lot.

As if that wasn’t enough to keep her in top shape, she’s also been carrying her 2-year-old daughter around a lot, which means her arms are super toned.

“I don’t know why lately I’ve been getting so much flack for it… I have a very healthy lifestyle and I’m busy. I have a daughter who’s almost 2 that I carry all the time. She’s just under 30 pounds [13.6 kg],” Denise says.

She recalls a time when the same tabs now attacking her for being too skinny were saying she was “too fat,” so, as she sees it, she’s darned if she does and darned if she doesn’t.

Personally, she doesn’t really care what people have to say of her, in the sense that it doesn’t bother her. She’s worried though that her daughters will get the wrong message.

“What bothers me is I have three daughters, and I’m such an advocate for health and fitness… in moderation. We eat ice cream all the time. I had grilled cheese before we got here,” she says.

She hopes that this will put rumors to rest. Whether it will actually happen, time will tell.
