A collection of resources from Microsoft allows customers to demonstrate and evaluate all Forefront products completely free of charge. The Microsoft Business Ready Security Trial Environment (3.0b) has been live on the Download Center since last week, providing a comprehensive set of technologies to streamline an end-to-end trial experience designed to span across all of the company’s Business Ready Security solutions. Essentially, with the Business Ready Security (BRS) Demo, the software giant is offering no less than 13 virtual machines, focused on Forefront solutions, but not only.

“It can be used to demonstrate or examine all Forefront products, including Windows access technologies, such as AD FS and DirectAccess. The BRS demo set comes with five demo scripts or lab manuals, representing five different solutions: secure messaging solution, secure collaboration solution, secure endpoint solution, information protection solution, identity and access management solution,” Microsoft explained.

Customers will need to be running Hyper-V or Hyper-V R2 in their environments in order to run the Business Ready Security Trial Environment (3.0b). In order to perform the installation of the virtual machines, IT professionals will be required to run the Install-BRS-demo.vbe script provided with the downloads. In this regard, it is important to note that testers will be able to find various documents accompanying the virtual machines, which they can turn to for additional information on the trial environment.

The Microsoft Business Ready Security Trial Environment (3.0b) was put together in order to simplify the demoing and analysis of a range of products including: Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG), Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS), Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server, Outlook Web Access 2010, Outlook 2010, Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 (AD FS), Threat Management Gateway 2010 (TMG), etc. But, most importantly, Microsoft has made extensive steps in order to ensure that customers will also be able to test the level of integration between Forefront and security technologies as those enumerated above, in the context of a Microsoft Business Ready Security Environment.

The Microsoft Business Ready Security Trial Environment (3.0b) is available for download here.
