The World Cup fever started to spread all over the world. In a future editorial - hopefully by the end of the week - I'll recap the last and final information concerning the squads that will honor the Germany competition this summer.
But, for now, we will focus on the "big losses" in one of the most powerful team in the world, Argentine.

When it comes to "celebrity drop-outs", we have to bring into discussion one of the best Argentinean midfielders of the moment, Martin Demichelis. Although not a very spectacular player, Demichelis may as well be one of the main reasons why Bayern Munchen - the team he plays for since 2003 - succeeded in conquering the last 2 domestic championship titles. Even so, Argentine's controversial coach Jose Pekerman did not include Martin Demichelis in the main squad for the World Cup.

So, only a few days after the news was released, Demichelis gave an interview for an Argentinean TV station, saying that: "not only have I lost my willing to play football again, but I lost any reason for me to live. After seeing all I have worked for my entire life go down the drain in a second, I feel like I just want to die".

Actually, Demichelis is not the first star to go down after Jose Pekerman`s selection. Another great Argentinean player, maybe one of the best in the last decade, Xavier Zanetti, will also be dropped. Call it insanity, or plane stupidity, but Pekerman`s choices for the two champions are a couple of uncertainties, to be more precise Lionel Scaloni and Javier Mascherano.

Argentine is part of Group C at the Germany World Cup - also called the "Group of Death" - along with Holland, Ivory Coast and Serbia Montenegro.
