Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher’s divorce was pronounced final 2 years after he filed the papers but, for Demi, that chapter of her life wasn’t really over until she sold the engagement ring with which he proposed.

Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that Demi sold off the giant bauble she got from Ashton, and which you can also see in the photo attached to this article.

“The 51-year-old single mother quietly sold the five-carat, emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from Kutcher, 35, to a Beverly Hills high-end consignment jeweler,” Radar writes of the fate of the gorgeous piece, believed to have cost no less than $250,000 (€181,264).

Of course, it’s not that Demi needed the money so it’s clear she didn’t sell it because of that. However, she felt that getting rid of the ring was the only thing left to do to get proper closure. She might have even felt as if she was getting back at Ashton for cheating on her when she sold it.

“Ashton broke her heart. Anything that reminds her of him makes her sad, and she wants to be happy,” a friend of Demi’s reveals for the same media outlet.

As celebrity gossip lovers must know, Demi and Ashton’s marriage came to pieces when he was caught cheating on her while she was working in another city, precisely on their 6th wedding anniversary. The woman he picked up at a bar and then took to his hotel room made sure she spilled all the beans to the tabloids, and even provided them with photographic evidence to back up her story.

This was the second time a woman had stepped forward to claim to have had relations with the handsome actor and, as it became apparent a few months later, it was much more than Demi could take.

She was the one to announce the separation but not before they went to marriage counseling to see if there was anything to be done to fix things. Some time later, Ashton filed for divorce and reports said that Demi did her best during the divorce to get a chunk of the money Ashton made from several investments after they split, on the grounds that they were still legally married.

The terms of the financial agreement they eventually reached were never disclosed, but sources familiar with the proceedings say Ashton was “generous” towards Demi.
