14 DAY TRIAL // They have been officially separated for a year or so but, as far as the media knows, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are still legally married because they never filed for divorce. A new report suggests it’s Demi who’s deliberately “dragging her heels.”
Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that Demi is purposely delaying the divorce, having instructed her attorneys in this sense, because she’s very upset that Ashton has already moved on.
She called for a separation when Ashton became involved in a second cheating scandal in as many years but, since then, she did her best not to file for divorce.
Some argue that she still held on to the hope for a reconciliation but, as of late, Demi did not take this next, natural step of filing for divorce just to spite Ashton, because she hates to see him happy with current girlfriend Mila Kunis.
“Demi has instructed her attorneys to delay negotiations as much as possible. The main issue they have been fighting over has been the division of assets and the monetary settlement, but it's now gotten to the point where Ashton is willing to cave in to all of Demi's demands just to reach a settlement,” an insider says for Radar.
Even so, Demi would hear none of it: she’s determined to making things as difficult as possible for Ashton and she’s doing just that.
“However, Demi is totally playing hardball and every time they come close to reaching an agreement she throws up another objection or demand,” the spy says.
To make matters worse, Ashton really wants to be divorced because he and Mila are getting serious. They’re not planning on getting married just yet, but at least they want to know for a fact they have this option.
“It's driving Ashton nuts as he just wants to close that chapter of his life and move on, he and Mila are VERY serious about each other and although another marriage isn't going to happen immediately it is definitely something both Ashton and Mila have discussed and believe is in their future,” the source explains.
