After weeks of insane speculation on the state of Demi Moore's marriage to Ashton Kutcher, she finally announced she was getting a divorce. Over Thanksgiving, the actress returned to Twitter, but she still goes by the same Twitter handle as before the split. Gossip lovers must know that reports claim Ashton cheated on Demi on their sixth wedding anniversary (and got caught again, the second time in two years), which led to their marriage falling apart completely.
For weeks, the two refused to address rumors in the press, putting up a united front while they reportedly sought counseling for their marital issues.
In the end, Demi announced they would be getting a divorce but, for the time being, she's still holding on to her “Mrs. Kutcher” moniker, at least on Twitter.
On Thanksgiving, Demi broke her silence on the social networking website, to note that it was funny people needed a specially designed holiday to remember to be thankful.
“Why do we have only 1 day for giving thanks? Is that why so many people feel unappreciated? Make this 1 of 365 days of Thanksgiving!” she wrote.
Aside from the fact that several media outlets picked up on her “unappreciated” comment, saying it's probably a veiled hit at Ashton and his infidelities, others also note that she's still tweeting under her old Twitter handle.
With over 4.3 million followers, one may imagine that Demi doesn't want to alienate them by changing her Twitter handle.
Of course, there's also the possibility that she doesn't know what she's supposed to do to get a different moniker, but equally plausible is that she's probably been too busy to take care of this particular detail.
Whichever is the right answer to the question of why Demi still goes by her husband's name on such a public platform if she's divorcing him, one should note that it's getting people talking about the possibility of a reconciliation.
In other words, Demi hasn't changed her Twitter handle because she's still working on her marriage to Ashton.
