Demi Moore is taking some time off from being in the public eye, while she seeks help for unspecified issues, believed to be an eating disorder and substance abuse. She's in rehab and she's doing great, says a new report.

After being hospitalized in January this year after “smoking something” and losing consciousness, Demi went underground, as they say.

Her rep would only confirm that she's “exhausted” and would be taking some time off to get better. In the meantime, the tabloids are having a field day with speculation about her condition.

The consensus seems to be that Demi is an in-patient at the exclusive Lodge center in Utah, where she's being treated for addiction and an eating disorder.

She's doing so very much better now, the latest print issue of InTouch Weekly reports (story via here).

Demi is learning to cope with the heartbreak caused by her cheating husband Ashton Kutcher in a healthy way and, just as important, she's also started to eat healthy again.

The results are already visible, the celebrity publication says, citing unnamed inside sources.

“Just a few weeks ago, Demi Moore was so distraught over he breakup with her cheating husband, Ashton Kutcher, that she was literally starving herself to death. Dangerously fragile – both emotionally and physically – Demi existed solely on lettuce, liquids and pills, and friends feared for her life,” InTouch writes.

Now in rehab, the actress is getting all the help she needed to get over this difficult stage in her life. She's already gained weight.

“She now weighs over 100 pounds [45.3kg]. She is totally committed to getting better,” one spy is quoted as saying, which would mean she's already gained about 10 pounds (4.5kg).

What's more important, though, is that Demi is determined to do whatever must be done to get back on the right track, even if that means spending more time in rehab than she initially planned.

“She’s thinking about extending her stay in treatment for a few weeks or even months. Demi has a long way to go, but she is getting better. She has many days where she feels great. She is on the right path and won’t leave rehab until she’s ready,” says the tipster.

Demi's former publicist describes her for InTouch as a “real survivor.”
