Demi Moore is doing the Clean Program now, says Master Cleanse is not really that healthy

Earlier this month, Demi Moore announced on Twitter that she and husband Ashton Kutcher had started doing the Master Cleanse diet, the one that has been repeatedly blasted by critics for being a fancier way of starving oneself. The actress has had a change of heart just recently, as the Huffington Post points out, based on her own tweets, and is now on something called the Clean Program.

As we also noted at the time, Demi made the announcement that she’d gone on the infamous Master Cleanse on her Twitter. After reportedly being showered with criticism, she tweeted again to say that she wasn’t doing it because she wanted to lose weight fast but because she was focused on staying healthy. Something made her change her mind since then, as she’s now doing the Clean Program, of which, again, she says it’s all about staying healthy and not losing weight.

“After doing the Master Cleanse with her husband earlier this month, Demi Moore moved immediately into another ‘healthier’ diet. On Monday a fan asked Demi how many days she had stuck to the Master Cleanse, which involves consuming nothing but lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup. ‘Only 4 but 2day’s day 13 4me on The Clean Program! http://j.mp/a6N7qm RT’. The Clean Program is the creation of Dr. Alejandro Junger, who helped Giuliana Rancic and Gwyneth Paltrow lose weight. It is a 21-day regimen of smoothies, and salads for dinner are allowed,” the Post writes.

“When one of Demi’s followers politely said she was not interested in the Clean Program because ‘healthy diet & exercise are all that’s required,’ Demi got defensive. ‘@chazzyb31 I think you need to research what it is I am doing there is no starving involved! It is all about nourishing the body!’ she tweeted. And: ‘@ElenorRigby yeah I think she doesn’t know what she is talking about!’” the same publication further says.

Moreover, when one follower asked Demi for some tips on making it through the dreadful Master Cleanse (though she only lasted 4 days herself), the star noted that the program she was doing now was “far healthier and more liveable.” For the sake of argument, she was saying the same about the cleanse only a short while ago, the Post notes.
