The other day, Fox announced the new panel of judges for season 2 of X Factor, a show that Simon Cowell imported from the UK and which failed to make a splash in its first season. More details are starting to emerge about the salaries the new stars on board are getting.

As we also informed you, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears have come to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul who were fired at the end of season 1, when Simon realized he needed to up the ante if he wanted to win the ratings war.

They join Cowell and L.A. Reid on the panel. A host is yet to be announced.

While Britney is undoubtedly Simon's biggest “catch,” Demi's involvement too is getting a lot of fans hyped, mostly because she's been having a rough couple of years because of substance abuse and other emotional issues.

Fans want her to do good and they want to be able to enjoy more time with her, which is precisely where X Factor comes in handy.

However, Cowell and producers focused more on Britney in coming up with the new panel, as the salaries of the two clearly illustrate.

TMZ reports that Demi is getting 15 times less money than the Princess of Pop, which is understandable but still a bit baffling.

“Demi Lovato is exactly 1/15th the celebrity Britney Spears is, at least in the salary department. Sources tell TMZ, the 19-year-old singer's raking in just north of a million [€786,472.6] to join the gang on X Factor – still damn impressive, but face it, she's no Britney,” TMZ writes.

“Simon Cowell raved about Demi, praising her accomplishments at such a young age, insisting she will connect with younger viewers,” adds the same media outlet.

Initally, Britney was offered $10 million (€7.63 million) to be a judge on the show, but she held strong until the network upped her salary to $15 million (€11.6 million), word has it.

“So Demi's getting table scraps... but in the TV biz, scraps can make you a millionaire,” TMZ muses.
