Mary E. Galligan, who has previously served as a special agent in charge at the US Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Division in New York, has been named a director at Deloitte’s security and privacy practice.

Galligan has recently retired from the FBI. At Deloitte, she will be in charge of advising senior executives at Fortune 500 companies on how to overcome crisis management challenges, especially ones related to cyber security.

The former FBI special agent will oversee the implementation of security programs designed to minimize the risks posed by cyber threats.

“Deloitte brings an aggressive approach to cyber security that is unmatched in the private sector,” said Galligan.

“The level, sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks on businesses and government require businesses to think beyond their own organization. They need to think about cyber security in the context of their industry, government and law enforcement. This is Deloitte's approach.”
