After months of stagnation, Dell will soon revamp its lineup of Latitude notebooks with four now models that will feature an updated hardware platform and possibly even a new design to make them stand out of the crowd.

The new Dell laptop models will be called the Latitude E5430, E5530, E6430 and E6530, the “30” at the end of their name helping them differentiate themselves from the previous Latitude models which use the “Exx20” designation.

Little is known at this point in time about these notebooks ranging between 14- and 15.6-inches, but Notebook Italia believes that they could feature a new hardware platform, a new design or a combination of the two.

If we were to take into consideration a hardware update option, then the notebooks could possibly arrive with the slightly faster mobile Sandy Bridge CPUs Intel launched in these last few months (like the Core i3-2350m, Core i5-2430M and Core i7-2670QM).

Another supposition, one that makes far more sense in our opinion, is that Dell will update these to feature Ivy Bridge processors, but this means that the new Latitude notebook won’t become available until Q2 of 2012.

If Dell would decide to wait that long, and we see no reason why it wouldn’t do it, then the 22nm Intel CPUs could be paired with better graphics from the Nvidia GeForce 600M and AMD Radeon HD 7000 series.

More information regarding these notebooks should become available during CES 2012, when Dell will probably unveil the Latitude E5430, E5530, E6430 and E6530 notebooks.

The current Dell Latitude notebooks are built around Intel’s Sandy Bridge CPUs, feature up to 8GB of system memory, Nvidia discrete or Intel integrated graphics, all packed inside ruggedized cases sporting a highly durable anodized brushed aluminum display back, alloy-wrapped corners and a tough powder-coated magnesium base.

I'm hoping USB 3.0 ports come standard on these new models. I've been holding out upgrading until this occurs
