Not exactly a long time ago, it was revealed that Dell's Mini 10 netbook lineup had an extra feature, namely the possibility to add WiMAX connectivity. In fact, it was quite known that Dell was intent on further upgrading this product family and keep it up-to-date and in line with customers' growing demands and expectations. As such, the company has again expanded the hardware options of its devices, boosting its netbook's multimedia capabilities, storage capacity and audio capabilities, among other things.

The main new element that the Dell Mini 10 can now come with is the Broadcom Crystal HD card. Netbooks are usually used for basic web browsing and document-editing tasks, with multimedia capabilities being low at best, at least in most cases. Seeking to provide on-the-go video and movie-viewing properties to its laptop, however, Dell has implemented the Crystal HD, which confers upon its device the ability to play back videos in 1080p resolutions.

Of course, this added functionality is not the only new feature that the Mini 10 can brag about. The Mini 10 Performance Plus configuration, for instance, has the added benefits of SRS Audio, a hard drive with a maximum storage capacity of 250GB and a 10.1-inch widescreen display with a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This netbook also features a 56WHr 6-cell battery, for an even longer battery life. Before the upgrade, the mobile PC only had 160GB of storage at the most.

As far as the other specifications of the mobile PC are concerned, the Mini 10 Performance Plus has 1GB of DDR2, WiFi and is powered by the Intel Atom N450 central processing unit, whose clock is set at 1.66GHz. The Dell Mini 10 Performance Plus is already available for order on the PC vendor's official website and is listed with a price of $409.
