Dell is hard at work with the designing of a new MID (Mobile Internet Device), and the company has already pushed the product through the FCC approval process, sporting the model number M02M.

We already spotted this device last week, when it emerged on the website of Wi-Fi Alliance, and now we see it receiving all the necessary approvals from the Federal Communication Commission as well.

No exact info on what this device would be all about emerged for the time being, but there are plenty of rumors suggesting that it would prove to be either the 7-inch Dell Looking Glass, or a new, upgraded version of Dell Streak, one that would pack the same 5-inch display as the original.

Until more details on this emerge, we should have a look at the device that passed through FCC's hallways today, which includes 3G connectivity options, with support for UMTS bands II, IV and V, suggesting that it would be compatible with both AT&T's and T-Mobile's networks.

Other than that, we should note that the upcoming device is expected to arrive on shelves with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and 802.11n WiFi radios on board.

What's even more interesting is that, along with a slot for the microSD memory card, the upcoming device would also include a SIM slot.

Most probably, the latter would enable users to connect the device to a carrier's network, though there is also a great chance that the upcoming tablet PC would offer support for voice calls, especially since there is a proximity sensor included into the mix as well.

All in all, it seems that Dell is getting ready to bring to the market a brand new tablet PC powered by Google's Android operating system, and that all that remains to be seen is when it would make the device official.

According to a recent article on Engadget, the Consumer Electronics Show set to kick off next week in Las Vegas would be the place where it would all happen. Stay tuned for more.
