Last month, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft and its partners went official with a series of new smartphones running under the Windows Phone 7 operating system, among which we had the chance to spot one coming from Dell, namely the Venue Pro. The handset comes with a rather unique form factor for the Windows Phone 7 family

, and can be admired in a series of live photos and videos below.

When made official, the handset was announced as being set to land on shelves in the US in time for the holiday season directly via Dell, though with T-Mobile connectivity on board.

Shortly after that, we also learned that the new mobile phone is on its way to the UK market, and that it would arrive there before US users would have the possibility to purchase it.

One way or the other, we're looking at a very appealing device, which should offer a great experience to end users, at least this is what the guys over at sizzledcore, who managed to play around a little with the phone, report.

For those who might have not encountered the device before, we should note that the Dell Venue Pro comes with a 4.1″ AMOLED capacitive, multi-touch display, complemented by a portrait sliding QWERTY keyboard.

Basically, this is what makes this device different from other Windows Phone 7 devices set to land this year on shelves, as they all come only with touchscreen displays in a candybar form factor.

According to the news site, the handset feels pretty solid, and combines the said physical QWERTY with an on-screen keyboard for a better viewing and messaging experience.

The specifications list of the new device also includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper with HD video recording capabilities, as well as built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support for 3G, and other features more.

The handset also sports a Gorilla Glass display for better scratch resistance, as well as support for T-Mobile's services, and support for all the services Microsoft made available for the Windows Phone 7 devices.

More images with the Dell Venue Pro can be found at sizzledcore, along with some more impressions on the device.
