Microsoft is moving closer to completing the delivery of Mango

Microsoft is finally putting together all the pieces of the big puzzle that the delivery of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango was, and has started to push the bits out on Dell Venue Pro smartphones on AT&T’s network. Mango started to arrive on Windows Phone devices a few months ago, yet it seems that there still are some handsets that did not get it, and that Dell Venue Pro is one of them.

However, things are turning for the better now, and Microsoft has just announced that it is pushing the update out on Dell Venue Pro handsets on AT&T’s network.

The company has published step-by-step instructions on how to perform the update on its website here, and those who own Dell’s slider on AT&T and would like to have a taste of the new Mango OS release should head there to learn more on the matter.

For those out of the loop, we should mention that Dell has been delivering its own software update for the Venue Pro, and that this was the main reason for which the release of Mango for the device was pushed back.

Other manufacturers are also delivering their own firmware to Windows Phones, only that they waited for Mango to arrive first. These updates are not available for all devices out there, and Microsoft is keen on underlining this.

“As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, we’re also continuing to deliver occasional firmware updates to specific Windows Phone models and carriers around the world,” Eric Hautala, general manager, Customer Experience Engineering, notes in a blog post.

“Firmware updates are designed to improve your phone’s performance. If one is available for your phone, you’ll see an update notification pop up.”

He also notes that users who would like to learn specific info on how to solve various issues that their Windows Phones might have should head over to Microsoft Answers for that.
