Computer maker Dell has just announced the availability of its Dell Venue Pro smartphone on the market in Europe, following a series of delays from the initial October availability window for this device.

Starting today, users in the UK or Germany interested in the purchase of a Dell Venue Pro would be able to do so while paying £383 (ex VAT and shipping), or €449 (ex VAT and shipping) for the device.

Running under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, the new smartphone would have a lot of appealing features to offer to those interested in it.

The handset comes with a full suite of business applications, including the Microsoft Office Hub, which offers support for viewing and editing Microsoft Office documents, or for syncing documents on a SharePoint site.

Moreover, the handset offers integration with Microsoft Exchange Server email messaging, not to mention that it comes with a vertical QWERTY keypad that can enable fast typing.

“No matter your requirements, the Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 brings a fresh approach of doing more with less,” said Aongus Hegarty, Dell vice president for Consumer, Small and Medium Business in EMEA.

“We're committed to creating smart, innovative mobile experiences to help people discover new ways to work, enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives. The Venue Pro truly mixes business with pleasure and is the perfect phone for those who appreciate the work/life balance.”

The specifications list of this device also includes a 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with rugged Gorilla Glass, 1GB Flash ROM storage, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 16GB MicroSD card pre-installed (non-removable), and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor.

Moreover, the handset would offer support for 3G networks, as well as for Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It also sports a 5MP photo snapper with auto focus.

“Windows Phone 7 Live Tiles keep priorities in focus, and the Venue Pro's simple interface delivers easy access to a full range of applications including Bing for search, Xbox LIVE for games, and Zune for music and video,” Dell notes.

UK users would find the Venue Pro on Dell's website here. German users should head to Dell's website here.
