Computer maker Dell has just made available on its website a new smartphone running under Google's Android operating system, namely the Dell Venue, which sports a price tag of $499.99, and which should arrive in user's hands as soon as February 19th, 2011. Two flavors of the new mobile phone were made available on the company's website, one with support for AT&T's 3G network, while the other would offer support for T-Mobile USA's 3G network.

However, the company also notes that both flavors come unlocked, and that a 16GB microSD memory card was included into the mix.

Here's what Dell has to say on the new device on its website: “Introducing an elegantly designed smartphone with easy access to all your content on a 4.1-in. touch display: - The stunning 4.1-in. WVGA AMOLED capacitive, multitouch display enables for easier navigation. - Capture all your most important moments with the 8 MP camera. - Stage software - Organize your music, photos and more so what’s most important to you is always front and center and never more than a touch away. - Android 2.2-based smartphone delivers a seamless online experience

The specifications list of the new mobile phone would include a 1GHz QSD 8250 application processor, along with the said 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities.

Moreover, the smartphone comes with 1 GB of internal memory, and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. Measuring 121 x 64 x 12.9mm and weighing in at 164 grams, the new device comes to the market with a 1400 mAh battery packed inside.

The mobile phone would offer WCDMA 850/1900/2100 or 900/AWS/2100 HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps connectivity options, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, Micro-USB, 3.5 mm headphone jack, or AGPS.

The features list of this smartphone would also include support for H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, WMV video, as well as for POP3, IMAP, ActiveSync, Push Email, Web mail, Microsoft Exchange, SMS, MMS, Native IM. It also features predictive text, GMS HW Compliant with G-sensor, E-compass, Virtual Keyboard.
