Dell said it has solved the problem, but so far we don’t know when the fix arrives

The Dell Venue 11 Pro has been out for a few months already and has so far received good reviews. Nevertheless, the product was in the spotlight last month, when Dell was reported to have pulled the faulty dedicated Active Stylus from sale.

And now it seems the slate is plagued by yet another issue, nicknamed “Ghost Touch.” User Crazydan has started the thread on the Dell Community forums in search of an answer.

“Ghost touch is where the system is (usually) awakened from sleep state and registers phantom screen interactions resulting in unwanted actions performed on the system.”

“Aside from unwanted actions happening on the system, the biggest visual indicator is the displaying of lines, circles, and squares from the system registering the phantom swipes, taps, and holds from a source.”

Some users report the issues have been resolved after installing the latest Intel Video driver, only to come back again after a few short days. Dell itself has advised customers to restore Windows to factory settings (thus wiping everything), with not much success.

Select owners have been asked by Dell to send their tablets, so an evaluation can be performed and a fix released.

Last week, a Dell representative stepped forward with good news saying “guys, this is being worked on by our engineering team and will be addressed. In looking at this thread, it appears that all of you only see this issue when you either boot the device or after a resume from standby?”

“Is anyone seeing this phenomenon while using the machine? Any specific details possible will be helpful for our engineering team.”

Users have confirmed the problem arises after power-on or resume from sleep, so we assume the fix will be made available to affected users soon enough. Have you experienced similar problems?
