The larger tablet lives off an Intel Atom CPU

Present at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), Dell took the opportunity to roll out the Venue 8 7000 tablet, which is an impressive little fellow, coming with one of the skinniest frames available on the market and Intel’s own RealSense 3D camera technology.

However, Dell also teased a larger version of the tab, which takes advantage of a 10-inch display and can be paired with a keyboard. A few days ago we couldn’t tell you much in terms of specifications related to the larger Venue, but the folks at Mobile Geeks have managed to dig up some info about the newcomer (via the GFXBench database).

Most of the specs of the Dell Venue 10 7000 have leaked

The device will be launched under the Venue 10 7000 name and is quite similar to the 8-inch version in terms of specifications.

For starters, the tablet will take advantage of the same Quad HD resolution found in the Venue 8 7000, so it will boast 2560 x 1600 pixels.

Keeping things running on the tablet is a quad-core Intel Atom Moorefield processor clocked at 2.33GHz working hand-in-hand with a PowerVR Rogue GPU fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

In the photography department, the tablet takes advantage of two cameras (8MP as a main camera and 2MP front-facing snapper). It appears that the larger tab in the Venue 7000 family won’t be taking advantage of Intel’s RealSense 3D camera technology.

The larger Venue will also bring about Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, and Wi-Fi. The tab runs Android 4.4.4, so you’ll be off the hook with updates, at least for the time being, until the latest version of the OS is pushed out into the wild.

Visually, the Dell Venue 10 7000 looks like the Lenovo Yoga

Anyway, we also get to glance at an official image showing the device and we can’t help but notice a peculiar similarity. We told you before that the Venue 10 7000 seemed to us quite similar to the Lenovo Yoga tablet, the one coming with an innovative hinge design that could sustain the tablet in the upright position.

Well, it’s quite clear that Dell has blatantly copied that design with its latest Venue 10 7000. The tab was said to be offered with a snap-on keyboard, but the promo picture shows it by itself, sitting alongside the smaller Venue 8. It’s clear that the tablet can stand upright by virtue of its own forces, like the Lenovo Yoga.

Putting this aspect aside, you should know that Dell is expected to officially launch the tablet sometime around the CES 2015, so we might have a little to wait until we see it arrive in retail.
