Enhanced specifications for Dell’s all-in-one

For quite some time now, Apple has ceased to be the only player on the market of all-in-one desktop PCs, and we are seeing major system makers, such as HP, Dell, Sony and others, unveiling their own iMac-like offerings. However, unlike Apple's systems, the all-in-one PCs from the other major brands are based on the more popular Windows operating system, thus providing a suitable alternative to OS X for users who enjoy having their PC inside a single, standalone system.

On that note, it appears that Dell's answer to the iMac, the XPS One, has been successful enough to justify a hardware upgrade, which the company has just made available.

Basically, users looking to acquire a Windows-powered alternative to Apple's iMac, can now head on to Dell's website, and check out the offer on the XPS One All in One desktops. The Round-Rock, Texas-based company has just added two new models to its XPS One series, both of which come with a larger, 24-inch display. That's not all, obviously, as Dell has also added a few performance tweaks, meant to provide users with a better overall computing experience, enabled by their all-in-one system.

Some of the new performance features on the new Dell XPS One include an Intel quad-core Q8200 CPU, hard drives that now offer storage capacities ranging from 320GB to 750GB, up to 4GB of memory and an NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics chip. The NVIDIA GeForce-powered XPS One 24 comes at a starting price tag of US$1,999, while the XPS One 24 with integrated Intel GMA X4500HD graphics starts at US$1,699. The other two 20-inch configurations start at US$999.

The larger screen size and the discrete graphics solution can really come to benefit computer users who require a high-end, top-of-the-line system that can easily handle graphics-demanding applications, such as gaming and high-quality movie rendering.
