One of the mobile phones Dell plans on bringing to the market with Google's Android operating system on board is the Dell Thunder

, which has just emerged in a hands-on video, as well as in a series of live photos.

Running under Google's Android operating system, the device that can be seen in the photos below is only a prototype dated back in April, which means that the final release might come with modifications when compared to this model.

According to the guys over at Engadget, who came up with the video preview, the phone packs global HSPA, AWS, which means that T-Mobile might get it.

It seems that there are two different Dell Thunder prototype units at large, each with its own screen resolution, namely 800 x 480 pixels and 1,280 x 768 pixels, respectively.

The final models should arrive with AMOLED screens, it seems, which means that they should be able to offer a great experience to end users.

The specifications list of Dell Thunder includes a 3.5mm headset jack, micro-USB port, a 1,400mAh battery, and a microSD memory card slot.

The upcoming mobile phone should pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with single-LED flash.

Other specifications include Wi-Fi 802.11n connectivity options, complemented by Bluetooth capabilities, and the aforementioned support for 3G networks.

A 1GHz Snapdragon QSM8250 CPU is powering this device, and it is said to be getting along very nicely with the Android 2.1 operating system Dell packed on it (one prototype runs under Android 1.6, it seems).

All in all, it seems that Dell is set to bring a pretty nice Android-based mobile phone to the market, through it still remains to be seen when that would happen, as well as the markets and carriers that would get the device.

Since the prototypes were dated April, chances are that Dell already came closer to their final form, and that an official announcement would be made in the near future, but this is only a guess for the time being.
