According to BGR, Dell Streak is set to be launched by the US-based operator AT&T on 19th July. While the information hasn't been confirmed yet, we have reasons to believe that the Android-based monster will hit the market this summer. One more prove that may hint to summer launch of the Streak is Michael Dell's statement a few months ago, which confirmed that the Dell Streak would be delivered by AT&T this summer.

Already hot on sale in Europe through O2 UK, Dell Streak features one of the largest displays on the market, 5-inch capacitive touchscreen (480x800 pixels resolution). The device also includes: - accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate; multi-touch input method; proximity sensor for auto turn-off; touch sensitive controls; social networking integration; Adobe Flash 10.1; YouTube, Google Talk; QuickOffice document viewer; Google Search, Maps, Gmail.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor, Dell Streak is running an old Android 1.6 OS, which is meant to be upgraded to Froyo, as soon as this will be available. Thanks to its measures 152.9 x 79.1 x 10 mm and weight (220g including battery), the device is more than a phone, and can be tagged as a mobile internet device.

Other highlights of the smartphone includes: 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, secondary VGA camera for videocalling, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi-802.11, 16 GB internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 32 GB), 3.5 mm headset jack, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps.

Set to be launched one day earlier, on 18th July, Samsung Captivate (AT&T version of Samsung Galaxy S), will surely be a very strong competitor for Dell Streak, which is supposed to hit the market the next day, through the same operator.
