Computer maker Dell has just announced that its Dell Streak tablet PC is set to become available for purchase in South Korea via wireless carrier KT. The Android-based device does not have an official price tag for the local market, nor a specific availability date, it seems, but it should all be announced in the near future.

The 5-inch tablet PC should prove a nice option for all Android enthusiasts in South Korea, that's for sure, though it faces great competition on the market.

Even so, the specifications list of this device are meant to lure a lot of users on its side, especially those who are looking for a more pocketable Android device than what the Galaxy Tab from Samsung would be.

With a 5-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash on the back, and a VGA front-facing camera, the Dell Streak can offer great video chat capabilities, and more, including fast uploads to YouTube, Flickr, or Facebook.

But this is not all when it comes to the capabilities of Dell Streak. Its screen boasts a WVGA (800 x 480 pixel resolution), while the device is powered by a fast 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm.

The specifications list of this device also includes:

- A user-removable (and replaceable) battery - A 3.5mm headphone jack means many of you can use the Dell Streak as the music source (and more) in your car - Integrated 3G + Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + Bluetooth 2.1 (think headsets, external keyboards, stereo headsets, etc.) - UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA A user-accessible Micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB. That means you can store lots of movies, music, photos or other kinds of files. The tablet PC comes to the market with Google's Android 2.2 operating system right from the start. It was released initially with the Android 1.6 flavor on board, but Dell upgraded it recently. You can see the device listed on Dell's South Korean website here.
