Computer maker Dell has reportedly started to push out a new software update for its Dell Streak 7 tablet PC, bringing the OS flavor on this device up to Dell Streak 7 Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

The new update was initially expected to start arriving on Dell Streak 7 devices only later this week, but it seems that some lucky users have already managed to get it on their tablets. The new OS flavor is said to have already started to arrive on devices as an over-the-air update, and to be working just fine.

What is interesting to note is that, while some users suggest that the update has left all of their personal data unmodified on their devices, there are also some who suggest that the update has wiped their devices clean.

Dell has listed info on the new software update on its website here, and also offered a series of details on what will be coming in the new software.

Some of the main enhancements that users will be receiving via this software update would include:

- Honeycomb Holographic UI - Improved Multi tasking and Navigation paradigms - Action bar and system bar with enhanced usability - Instant access to all customized screens - Upgraded tablet Email user interface - Improved Stage widgets - Improved preloaded applications such as Zinio, Quickoffice, eBook Reader etc.

Moreover, it seems that Dell has also made it available for a manual download, though the link is now working at the moment.

For the time being, however, Dell did not make an official announcement on the availability of this software update for the tablet PC, but it should not be too long before it makes the move.

One way or the other, the official release date for the update is nearing fast and, if not before Friday, October 7th, users will be able to download and install it starting with that day.
