T-Mobile's first tablet PC to pack support for the carrier's 4G network, the Dell Streak 7, is now available for purchase, following the official announcement on its availability made during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January.

Just as reportedly a few days ago, T-Mobile made the tablet PC available for purchase at only $199.99 upon the signing of a new two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Free of contract, the Dell Streak 7 would cost $449.99.

The new device is the second tablet PC Dell brought to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, following the release of a 5-inch Dell Streak last year.

Unlike the older device, the new tablet PC comes with a 7-Inch touchscreen display, along with support for 4G connectivity on the carrier's HSPA+ network, and with a dual-core application processor from Nvidia packed inside.

“Fun, fast, and amazingly priced, the Dell Streak 7 - our first 4G tablet, powered by Android - is perfect for entertaining the whole family,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

In addition to the 1Ghz application processor, the new Android tablet sports 16 GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and enhanced support for multimedia files.

The Dell Streak 7 also comes with a front-facing camera for video calling, as well as with 1080p video recording capabilities for the back-facing photo snapper, not to mention a 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi connectivity options, or GPS receiver.

The device would also come with messaging capabilities, and with fast access to email and social networking sites. Swype would be present on the Streak 7 as well.

Measuring 7.9 x 4.7 x 0.5 inches and weighing in at 17.6 ounces, the new device comes with a 2780 mAh battery inside, with support for up to 4 hours of continuous video play back time, or up to 3 days of standby time.
