After numerous delays, Dell's Streak 7 tablet is now available for purchase via Dell Canada's webstore for $399.99 off-contract.

It looks like the electronics manufacturer had issues with all its smartphones and tablets that were supposed to launch in the last year.

Starting with the Streak 5 and Venue Pro, Dell's devices were constantly postponed, mostly due to software issues.

Dell Streak 7 was supposed to hit stores on April 28th, but it was delayed until May 12th, just to be released recently.

Those who waited so long for Dell's 7-inch Android tablet will probably be disappointed by the fact that the device comes with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, instead of the optimized Honeycomb.

Furthermore, Dell has yet to announce plans to upgrade the tablet's software to Android 3.0, but chances are slim that this will happen, as the manufacturer is already preparing a 10-inch tablet that will be delivered with the latest iteration of Google's mobile platform.

Equipped with a dual core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Dell Streak 7 does not feature support for GSM voice communication.

The tablet comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 262k colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It packs 16 GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32 GB).

Other highlights of the tablet include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR, as well as built-in GPS with A-GPS support.

The device sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash and a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.

Potential customers who intend to purchase the Dell Streak 7 should know that the manufacturer offers free shipping and 1-year limited warranty and 1-year return to depot service or 2-year limited warranty and 2-year return to depot service for $65.
