This week, still at Intel’s Developers Conference in San Francisco, Dell pulled an ace out of its sleeve too.

It’s an attempt to bring its Venue line back to life, which was abandoned last year after the tech giant tried to make an impression on the smartphone market.

Apparently, Dell is not yet ready to give up the name, and has resuscitated the Venue moniker, applying it to a tablet this time.

The new Venue tablet is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 device and is targeted at both the general public and the enterprise environment.

The Verge reports that Dell VP Neil Hand himself introduced the tablet at the conference. With this new endeavor, the PC maker packs a Bay Trail quad-core processor and a display with a resolution of 1080p.

There’s also an HDMI out port and a microSD storage slot.

The slate will probably offer a decent battery life with the new power-saving Intel processor embedded into it.

More details about the upcoming tablet will become available on the October 2, Dell says. The company is expected to price the tablet around $199 / €150 because of the Bay Trail processor.
