There have been some rumors circulating around the web, saying that Dell was planning on launching new laptops for the Latitude family in April. Now, these reports seem to have been proven true by none other than the company itself, whose UK-based website has actually listed the two newcomers. Known as the Latitude E6410 and E6510, the laptops have rather high capabilities and, like the entire line, in fact, will cater to the needs of small to medium businesses.

The E6140 has a screen size of 14.1 inches, whereas the E6510 measures 15.6 inches. The latter also has somewhat larger maximum processing capabilities, being configurable with quad-core CPU options that its sibling doesn't have. Other than this, the two mobile computers are quite similar.

They run on either Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs, have a memory capacity of up to 8GB, a hard disk drive of up to 500GB (or an SSD of up to 256GB), as well as a DVD Writer/Blu-ray drive and the Nvidia NVS 3100M 512MB discrete graphics card.

The display options of the two laptops, besides their size, are the pair's major distinctive feature. The E6510's 15.6-inch LCD can have maximum resolutions of 1,366 x 768, 1,600 x 900 or 1,920 x 1,080. On the other hand, the 14.1-inch display of the E6410 can reach 1,280 x 800 or 1,440 x 900. The two devices also share most of the connectivity and I/O capabilities. They come equipped with Gigabit Ethernet, optional mobile broadband, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and an HD webcam.

Depending on preference and their battery life needs, end-users may select among six-cell, nine-cell and 12-cell batteries to feed their laptops with. It is unclear when the E6510 actually starts selling, but the E6410 is already up for order at a price of £749.
