Laptop runs Microsoft and Apple OSes side by side in huge marketing blunder

Dell has committed the ultimate IT sin by putting OS X and Windows side by side on a laptop they were trying to market, touting its touch capabilities. The commercial has since been pulled.

Discovered by The Verge after being available for more than a month, the video in question showed a woman designing clothes in a Mac OS environment using her new Dell laptop. She then swipes with her finger on the screen and lands in Windows 8.

Adding insult to injury, Dell seems to be trying to copy some of Apple’s own marketing, touting the use of Corning Gorilla Glass, machined aluminum, etc. Not that only Apple can market its products like that, but it’s just too much in a single video.

The video has been removed from YouTube, but those who noticed the blunder still have it available for watching.
